Jongyoon Han, Ph.D.: Micro-Nanofluidic devices for Biopharmaceutical and Therapeutic Applications

Micro and nanofluidic systems have traditionally been applied for various molecular analysis and diagnostic applications. However, with the emergence of novel concepts and ideas, we are witnessing entirely new class of potential therapeutic applications of micro-nanofluidics. This seminar will showcase several recent examples of such applications my group was working on, in the areas of biologics quality assurance, enabling perfusion culture for biomanufacturing by high-throughput microfluidic clogless filtration, and even direct therapeutic intervention via extracorporeal blood separation for mitigating sepsis.
