Compassion and the Art of Medicine

Baylor College of Medicine’s annual Compassion and the Art of Medicine series is hosted by the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Speaker: Andrea Link, M.D.
Title: “Vulnerability, Courage and Compassion: Lessons Learned”

Dr. Andrea Link did her medical training and residency in pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine. After several years as a pediatrician with Texas Children’s Hospital, she had a shift in her clinical interests and spent three years on the Jail Inreach Project with Healthcare for the Homeless – Houston working with incarcerated women at the Harris County Jail.

From her experiences working with these women, she developed “Healthy and Whole,” an innovative and multimodal program to help women recovering from prostitution and human trafficking. Dr. Link also researches the psychosocial and medical issues involved in street-level prostitution and is a clinical assistant professor of family and community medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.
