Richard III Rediscovered

“My research interests are stab wounds and dismemberment,” states Prof. Sarah Hainsworth, member of the Richard III Project and Forensics Engineer from Leicester University. Prof. Hainsworth was part of the multidisplinary team that excavated and studied the remains of the king found under a car park in Leceister in August 2013. She was tasked with analyzing the skeletal remains to discover the cause of death of King Richard and to find out what weapons ultimately lead to Richard’s demise. She brings the story of Richard’s discovery to Houston, relates the impact of genomics in positively identifying Richard’s remains, and tells about her role in a talk at the Houston Museum of Natural Science on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.

Following the talk, a Renaissance-inspired reception takes place with a bountiful buffet, Renaissance music and dancing.

Rumor is that King Richard will be crashing the lecture. Whether delighted or irate at the evidence presented, his reaction is sure to be dramatic
