HOUSTON GO RED FOR WOMEN EXPO & LUNCHEON

1 Minute Read

Currently some eight million women in the U.S. are living with heart disease, yet only one in three American women believes that heart disease is her greatest health threat. This represents a significant disconnect between women’s beliefs about their heart health status and reality.

Go Red For Women is a movement of passionate women who are making heart health their No. 1 priority for themselves, their families and the women we love. Join the millions of women across the country who are using their voices to make a difference. It’s the right cause for your own health and for the women you love.

Annually, the American Heart Association (AHA) hosts Go Red For Women Luncheons in Houston and three surrounding areas – Northwest Harris County, Bay Area and Montgomery County. These events allow women to come together for one united cause – to generate awareness that heart disease is the number one health threat for women. The events, typically held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., focuses on educating others in the prevention of heart disease and stroke, and living a healthy lifestyle, with proceeds benefitting the American Heart Association.

With 90 percent of women having one or more risk factors for developing heart disease, the time is now to take action and take control of you and your family’s health.
