Image-Guided Therapy Seminar

There have been significant advances in the use of imaging for pre-surgical, pre-radiation therapy planning, patient and physician education. These advances have created a deficiency in the understanding and use of post-processing DICOM images for presurgical planning and pre-radiation therapy planning. There is also a lack of understanding of the potential interactive tools that can be utilized to improve the outcome for the patient. This includes the understanding of performing presurgical planning via a visual platform from the existing imaging datasets of the patient. This program will address these deficiencies by discussing the purpose and the potential of presurgical planning and how DICOM datasets with the correct acquisition techniques can be utilized for patient education and creating the optimal surgical approach.
